Citizens from EUROPEAN UNION (EU), European Economic Area citizens (EEA) and Swiss do not need any special requirements prior to departure. Citizens from other nationalities should ask for a Visa type "D" at the Spanish Embassy before leaving their country. This Visa is valid for three months (90 days) or six months (180 days).
Important: If you enter the country without a Visa or with a tourist Visa you will not be able to obtain the Targeta d´Estudiant (residence permit).

You must go to "Formació continuada" (Escola de Postgrau How to arrive 3rd floor) to formalize your register (masters, postdegree, etc.) Check the Post Degree Academy web to know what you need.
Once you have obtained the Visa, if you are planning to stay longer than three months, you have to apply for the "Targeta d´Estudiant" (one year student residence permission card) within the first 30 days of your stay in a European country.
In order to obtain the Targeta d´Estudiant you have to bring to the International Relations Office:
